Abstract
Josh Pacewicz received his doctorate in Sociology from The University of Chicago, is a former ASA/NSF Postdoctoral Fellow on the Current Economic Crisis, and is currently an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Urban Studies at Brown University. Josh is interested in the way that
public policies alternatively constrain and enable actors in various settings, a theoretical interest that has led him to conduct research on American federalism and urban governance, the grassroots organization of political parties, credit rating agencies’ influence on municipal finance, and—more recently—the politics of knowledge production and reception in state politics. His articles have been published in the American Journal of Sociology, Social Problems, and Socio-Economic Review and won paper awards from SASE and the ASA’s Urban and Community Section. His book, entitled Partisans and Partners: the Politics of the Post-Keynesian Society, is forthcoming with the University of Chicago Press.
